AS2: Pre-production Task 6

Pre-Production Task 6

Proposal
Prepared by
Reece Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Basra Khan, Satveer Kaur

The product that my team and I planned to advertise is a mobile phone. The USP of our product is that it is the high quality speaker. The speakers are the main selling point of our product so as a group we decided that the speakers will be main unique selling point of our product. We will use the style of humour to make the viewers remember our product and advert.

Potential problems and how to overcome these problems:

Unwell cast will lead to postponing the filming date until they are better.

Weather may bring rain which will interrupt and prevent us from filming as our equipment isn't waterproof.

To prevent both the issues from occurring we would have to re-schedule our filming to another day.

As a group, we must tell all the members to prepare for a certain day to ensure that they are in so we can film.

If the raining continues, we will be forced to film indoors instead of out.

AS2: Task Four

AS2: Task Four

Before we conclude what our advert is about and film it, we have to look and be aware of the legal issues surrounding this topic. We will look at ASA and BCAP guidelines so that our group understands and prevents copyright by mistake.

The possible copyright we could run into are:

  • Slogan
  • Music
  • Title
  • Logo
  • Background Music

We as a group came up with the idea by looking at different products that already exist, we know this because of our Market Research. We did this to make our idea seem original.  Our advert won't include foul language and it doesn't include false advertising so that people will not be mislead and get offended. Children will be able to view our advert as it has funny scenes in the advert so that they remember it while also remembering what the advert is about: The Nexus 6P.

AS2: Requirements for a production

Requirements for a production

Technical Equipment:
We need the following:

  • Camera
  • Smartphone
  • Earphones
  • Microphone
  • Actors
  • Crew

We will film for roughly around 2-3 days and each shot will last for around 30 seconds.

Camera Hire:

Potential Filming Locations:

Actors & Actresses

We have a group consisting of 3 boys and 1 girl. We won't hire any actors/actresses as we think we are capable of doing a good job ourselves and it will reduce our costs. The target audience is around the same age as us which is good as we will know what they are expecting for our product.

Costume & Props

There won't be that many props or costumes required as we will just be wearing our sixth form clothes. The props we will use will be earphones, microphones, camera and Nexus 6P which is our product.

AS2: Ideas Generation

Contents:

The first idea is when someone is sitting on their phone listening to music through their earphones, then someone else walks in with their new phone (The Nexus 6P) which is the phone we are advertising. The idea is that the person with their new Nexus 6P highlights it's most prominent feature: The Internal Front Facing Speakers. The speakers are built to the highest quality and offer really high bass and are extremely loud for a smartphone's speaker.

It's going to be a realist narrative because people might find themselves in a similar scenario to ours.

The target audience is going to be aimed at teenagers as it will appeal to them because they are most likely going to listen to music and they will buy the product because they offer the best sounding speakers which means listening to music that offers more clarity.

Idea Two

The second idea involves a group of people setting up a party to find their speakers have broken, so they text their friend to come over with their high quality smartphone speakers from the Nexus 6P. Then the person comes over with his smartphone and plays the music for everyone at the party, and because the Nexus 6P has such high quality speakers, everyone is shocked at how brilliant they perform on a Smartphone and then everyone dances and has a good time.

AS2: Target Audience Research

Target Audience Research

The group and I decided to design and develop an advert about new Smartphone Speakers,
we are trying to aim our audience at music lovers, which is why age doesn't matter within our research.

Analysing

These adverts are effective to the target audience because they are very rememberable and funny which means you won't forget the advert, therefore you won't forget the product.  The first advert features the Samsung Galaxy S7, this advert is very professional and shows all the qualities in the phone which sets out to impress its target audience.
