AS3: Task three: Sources of Information

AS3: Task three: Sources of Information

For this task, our group needed to take precautions, this is my pre-production document.

Risk Assessment

Our Risk Assessment allowed us to acknowledge the potential accidents that could happen during the time of our filming and planning, having this Risk Assessment allowed us to also take more care in our actions to make sure that everything went smoothly without no injuries or equipment breakage. Tripping over equipment can be dangerous as the equipment costs money and we cannot afford to destroy the equipment rented to us along with injuring one of our group members which would inevitably lead to us postponing the filming causing a delay.  We could of improved on our Risk Assessment by adding more potential risks, however the main risk was the tripping over the equipment which was assessed carefully by our group.

Contingency Plan

Our Contingency Plan was meant to identify potential problems and how we could prevent these problems with a solution. Unfortunately on one of the days of our filming, our director Basra fell quite ill just before we were going start filming, he had been sent home and we had to postpone our advert for a few days, using our contingency plan we made sure we had contacted everyone in the group to quickly inform the members the best and fastest possible way of filming ASAP. On the final day of shooting our advert, we decided instead of filming outdoors, we would change our original plan and film indoors, this was because the weather was raining and we couldn't afford to damage our equipment which is not waterproof. Our contingency Plan helped us a lot with this situation as we assessed it was raining outside therefore we all agreed that we will film indoors so that we can finish our advert with no further interruptions.

Production Budget:

Our Production Budget was very useful because it allowed me to identify the costs of all the equipment needed to film our advert. Our production Budget was very brief and it could have easily been improved by adding more specific data such as brand names and types of cameras etc as we could have bought and rented the wrong equipment which would have meant we have wasted money and more time buying equipment that wasn't suitable for the advert we had in mind. Our Production Budget graph was also very useful as we could look around different sites and compare the prices of all the different equipment and to see which was the cheapest and most suitable for the advert.

Costume and props:

This document was to help the group identify what everyone was going to wear and what kind of setting we was going to set for advert, it didn't matter what we were wearing as the advert is all about the phone and dressing wasn't much of an issue. This document also helped remind us what to bring on the day of the recording which was the phone itself (Nexus 6P) and the earphones we were going to compare the phone speakers with originally.

Shot List:

The shot list document is used to organise where the shots are going to be taken place in and also how many shots we were going to film. This is very useful to the group as we can look at this list and see clearly what order we will be filming in. We also added a description to quickly lay out what we were planning to do in the scenes that we were shooting.

Production Schedule:

The production schedule listed everyone involved in our group. The call sheet wasn't really needed as we all had each other's numbers anyway, so the column wasn't required. For this document, nothing really needed improvement.
